What does stewardship mean and why is it important for our churches? Stewardship is not only about how much money we give to the church but it is also about how we care for our churches resources; such as property, building, programs and people. Stewardship is about how we share our God’s given gifts with each other in our communities and the world. There are many ways in which we can share our gifts and respond to our call to be good stewards. The benefit our parish receives through its members’ stewardship has provided support to our outreach ministries, worship, faith formation education programs, pastoral care and much more. We welcome all in pledging to our parish and sharing of their gifts. Please contact the Parish office at 613-623-3882 to find out more on how you can become an active steward for our churches

In Our Community

PAW Project Arnprior Welcome

In 2016 the Parish of Fitzroy Harbour joined in partnership with Emmanuel Anglican church in Arnprior to help in sponsoring a refugee family through the Project Arnprior Welcome. Our parish raised just over $5000.00 to support in the relocation of a refugee family. In doing this we answered our faith call, as well as responded to our civil call to help those those fleeing from war- torn countries, find their place of freedom and new home in Canada. We are presently supporting a mother and her daughter from Iran. PAW is a success because of its volunteers. If you are interested in finding out more about this ministry and how you can volunteer please contact the Parish office at 613-623-3882.

Canadian Foodgrains

Fgallery3 5As part of outreach, the Anglican Parish of Fitzroy Harbour donates to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFGB) by way of contributions from a growing project. The CFGB is a partnership of fifteen Canadian church denominations and church agencies working together to end world hunger. Each year, our parish grows a field crop and the money paid from selling that crop is donated to the CFGB.

Our parish growing project was initiated by Ron Weir, who saw how much good work the CFGB was doing in developing countries. In 2016, our parish donated in excess of $9,000 to the CFGB and has donated almost $45,000 in the past five years. The Canadian government will match 4:1 for every dollar donated to the CFGB, up to $25 million per year.

The parish growing project is located at the corner of Aylwin Road and Canon Smyth Road across from the entrance to the Fitzroy Provincial Park. Parish members volunteer time in helping to cultivate and plant as well as inform and advocate with people in the community and government.

We are also blessed with contributions from Christ Church Bell's Corners Anglican Church, Bit-Ta-Luk Farms, Carp and Synagri, Richmond. Their commitments help to generously offset input costs in our growing project. We are proud to contribute to the CFGB as part of our ongoing parish outreach.
